Smart Regulation - a Field of Excellence

A team of more than 60 researchers of four faculties conduct joint research and share their knowledge. Always with an eye on the well-being of society.

Smart Regulation is the innovative, efficient, effective and adaptable control of the behaviour and interaction of individuals, society and companies with the aim of enabling socially, economically and ecologically responsible decisions.

More than 60 researchers from 22 different departments at the University of Graz are jointly addressing questions that arise with regard to both existing and future models of regulation, behavioral control and the creation of incentives to guide the decisions of individuals, companies and society. They cooperate with regional, national and international research institutions and are involved in numerous interdisciplinary, competitively acquired research projects.

The Field of Excellence consists of three interdisciplinary research clusters:
